This territory has a unique micro-climate. Tuff and limestone are the main soil components, and the summer is very hot and dry due to the wind; these two factors play an important role in the growth of the wine and in the ripening of the grape bunches, giving them unique properties which can be found only in the commune of Mango. La Trava cultivate vineyards on a surface of around 20 hectares, the work in the vineyards follows the cycle of seasons, respecting their natural ripening. Their philosophy is simple: manual work, gentle treatments, great care for the health of the vine and the grapes, which rest for one month before the harvest. The identity of the vineyard, the grapes and the wine takes shape in the vineyards, and the final product reflects it on its label. The care of the vines starts from the soil according to Giorgio and Maria Grazia, the presence of natural grass between the vineyards, whose growth is controlled, allows for the needed humidity; the shoots are cut short and the grapes are selectively thinned, while the treatments to control the grass around the vines and the vegetation are well balanced, which is essential to preserve the freshness of the Moscato bunches and the body of red wines. The names of the vineyards are recalled by the wines by Azienda Agricola La Trava: only this way it is possible to create unity among territory, vineyard, grape and wine, as witnesses of a union rooted in the soil.
